A new WIOA Notice is being issued to introduce a revised set of criteria for identifying demand occupations in accordance with WIOA section 134(C)(3)(G)(iii) requiring all training services for WIOA Title IB Adults and Dislocated Workers (and Youth in certain instances) be directly linked to in-demand occupations. Learn about the new criteria and how a shift from a regional approach to a Statewide approach might affect career planning discussions and determinations in assisting WIOA participants. Information and strategies will help guide the career planner as they assist participants in the development of an Individual Employment Plan (IEP) or Individual Service Strategy (ISS) and make informed decision-making in selecting occupations and careers to pursue. If you are a Local Workforce Innovation Board member or staff, you will want to hear how decisions on the selection of eligible training providers and training programs are impacted by the demand occupations.
